My favorite of this month would be Alien: The Covenant & Wonder Woman.
It has something dark in it and it gave a great tense and thrill to the watcher. I really think that bad ending movie is trending right now. It was quite frustrating though to watch 3 depressing movies at the same time; Brimstone, Silenced, and Split. It's just like having a bad dream where you wanna do something to fix it but you can't. That's how depressing it was. My advise for you is to watch another light and refreshing movie afterwards, like Sing, to wash the depression and lighten you up.
Here's my explaination on why I love Wonder Woman (which I bet some of you has different opinion with me). There are some points in this movie that made me fall.
First, of course Galgadot herself. I found she is the second perfect woman in the Hollywood after Angelina Jolie (in Mr & Mrs Smith). I knew Galgadot since Fast & Furious but not that into her until Wonder Woman. We all knew that Hollywood has a few super woman movies, like Lara Croft, Cat Woman etc but none has come close to man superheroes movies. I think this is the first woman superhero movie that finally achieved that. Though, there some cheesy and didn't make sense part, but hey, when you watched super heroes movies, you're supposed to leave your brain outside and just enjoy the movie. That way, you won't judge so much about the senses of the movie you watched.
Second, you know Lupin from Harpot never get that much attention in Harpot movies. I'm so happy to watched him get a major part in this movie and surprisingly he suited his character.
Third, the message of the movie itself. "What the world needs now is love. The only thing that can help the world is love". Yass. I know this is common in movies nowadays. Still, I love how they delivered it.
Fourth, the character of Steve! My God, is there any decent guy like him left in this world? He's so perfect and a gentleman! He knows manners, he turns red, he treats Diana well, he sacrificed himself for a greater cause, he's loyal and he's a fictional lol.
This is too few for a movie maniac like me. This month I've been too occupied with my thesis, my writings, and other personal things. I wish I could finish my thesis soon as possible so that I can freely doing something else without being attached.
About my writings, I write mostly everyday now.. on a book. I've reconsidered to use my unused notebooks and make the most of it. So far, I've been writing on 3 notebooks. 2 daily for a diary and a dream book. 1 for quotes from movie, songs, etc.
I'm in need for a diary since I talked with my friends and found out my memories really fading away. I don't remember the big and little details of event or anything. It is somehow frightening me that I came up with a daily diary, to keep the memories within and keep my mind on its right track. Surely it helps me get off my mind and unsettle feelings too. I realized that I can't wrote about my unsettling feelings on my blog, that will ruined my readers expectation. No one wants to hear and know my shit, right? Well, at least I've shared, even on a book.
My dream book is literally a book full of my absurd and random dream. I wrote what I dream every time I remember what the dream was. So, as soon as I woke up, I quickly wrote about my last night dream before I completely forget it. It's quite a challenge at first, which I quickly forget about a dream, no matter how many times I've tried to recalled it. This is quite a good workout for my brain too I think.
In the future I will regularly have things to write on my notebooks, like travel book etc.
