Used to be my lullabies..

1. Collin Raye - Counting Sheep (2000)

♫ Counting Sheep
♫ I'm Gonna Love You
♫ Blackbird
♫ A Mother And Father's Prayer
♫ When You Wish Upon A Star
♫ Cool Cat
♫ Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral (An Irish Lullaby)
♫ Hearts Are For When You Want To Love Someone
♫ The Dream Song
♫ When You Say Your Prayers
♫ Stay Awake

I can't recall whose cassette this is but i bet it's my aunt's. It's a country lullaby album for kids actually. A mother and father's prayer is a good one but personally i heart the When you wish upon a star. It is originally one of Pinocchio's soundtrack but Collin Raye's version is truthfully nice.

2. Charlotte Church - Voice of an Angel (1998) Charlotte Church (1999) Dream a dream (2000)

♫ Pie Jesu
♫ Panis Angelicus
♫ Ave Maria
♫ Dream a dream (featuring Billy Gilman)

♫ O come all ye faithful
♫ Little drummer boy
♫ First Noel
♫ Mary's boy child
♫ Ding dong Merrily on high
♫ Winter Wonderland
♫ Christmas Song
♫ Hark the herald angels sing

I mixed up the track list of three albums of her. And yes, those three were also my aunt's, thanks to her deeply for introduced these kind of music to me and my sis. Maybe that's why me and my sis were sopranos too in the choir. Most of her songs are Catholic Church's and Christmas songs. Charlotte has a very beautiful voice since she was a kid. She's a soprano. She was very bright and famous at that time but as the time goes and she's growing up, all of 'em started to fade away. She's known with her issues.

3. Sarah Brightman - Time to say goodbye (1996) Love changes everything (2005)

♫ Time to say goodbye
♫ All i ask of you (Phantom soundtrack)
♫ Memory
♫ Symphony
♫ Any dream will do
♫ Think of me
I don't know how to love Him
 Anything but lonely
 There is more to love
 Love changes everything
The music of the night (Phantom soundtrack)

Who the hell doesn't know her?? If you don't, i could say that your scope of music is not big enough. She's a very well respected senior soprano. She had been duet with many famous tenor such as Andrea Bocelli, etc. Her most well known performance was Phantom of the Opera where she originated the role of Christine Daaé. Her voice is so typical. I could easily recognize hers.

4. Enya - Paint the sky with stars (1997) A day without rain (2000)

♫ Only Time
♫ Only if
♫ May it be
 Pilgrim
If i could be where you are
♫ Anywhere is
♫ Watermark
 Hope has a place
♫ China roses
♫ Evening falls
 Fallen embers
♫ On your shore

I must say that my auntie really has a great taste in music (or maybe some of you would call her taste "boring"). Maybe most of them influenced me and my sis. So that's why me and my sis like the same musics (though she's not that into upbeat). We all know the famous song of Enya "Only time". It was the soundtrack of a movie Sweet November and also May it be, the soundtrack of The lord of the rings. I still remember how my aunt Yanti singing "Anywhere is". Enya's songs are so soothing. I love it. Perfect.

So.. What's yours? :)

Mid Nov. (Here comes rainy days)

My recent favorite songs were quite much. One of them that made me drowning was "I love you" by Avril L. When i started to hear the song, it feels like the song were leading my imagination and feeling to a road trip, sitting on the passenger side of a convertible car, driving through hills, beach, flower field and other great scenery road, wind blows the hair, feeling the breeze with hands and started to sing along while occasionally looking to the driver which is the "you" mention in the song. Some part of the song we're pulling the car to check the machine out and stopping by at the gas station. Finally we reached to the main destination at night and that's the end of the song. Anyone got the same thought with me or am i good to be a music clip director? I haven't seen its official video clip myself.

-----

Soon it will be the end of November and i'll spend six months (probably more) alone.
Completely alone.
*sigh
Not even dare to watch any horror movie for a while.
And thinking about moving out.. really got me frustrated.
I have a lot of unuseful stuff that i love to keep!
Thinking that i might bring them all from room to room making me exhausted.

-----

Gosh it has been November already and soon it will be new year.
Feels just like yesterday.
I still remember last new year eve when i got sober..
I'm not ready yet.
Not ready for next year and..
A year passing by just like that.
Feels like an ice cream cone slipped from my hand.

-----

It has been raining a lot lately.
Yes.
Rainy days has come and.. Jakarta surely will go through flood and awful traffic jam. Everyone hates it. Some of my friends has already been an official hater of rain as they said in twitter. Well well.. It's a natural thing. When summer comes, people craving for rain and so the reverse apply. Me, myself for example, never like rainy days actually. It makes some difficulties to travel around the city, flood everywhere (funny, even inside the house i still get wet and no need to mention the traffic), dangerous when the road goes slippery, the mood it brings, the paranoid, the memories and so on. I only love it sometimes when i already bored to the summer and missing a little bit of rain drops and the smell of it. Just got to keep grateful and enjoy this cycle every year. *sigh

Evita (1996)

Err.. Yeah.. I love this movie. This musical movie.
I had been wanting to review about this movie for a long time since i last saw it again on O channel. And yes, as i said on my twitter earlier, it's been very nostalgic and beautifully memorable. I watched this for the first time when i was a kid at the cinema (I'm lucky that my parents had introduced me to movies and musics and showed me such a great one). With the main casts, Madonna as Evita, Jonathan Pryce as Juan Peron, and Antonio Banderas as Che. The movie is about the infamous real-life story of Eva "Evita" Duarte de Peron.

For those who don't know the hell is Evita Peron, she's an ugly duckling who turned out to be a swan. From Eva Duarte to Evita Peron. From a normal citizen to a First Lady, with her own "beauty" and "strong" way. What i love from this movie is that it has a lot of great soundtracks for a musical movie (I still had the soundtrack cassette though i'm not sure where it is now). Madonna did a great job of course as a singer and Antonio too, although i kinda don't get what's his part in the movie.

A poet doesn't always come.

Ketika senja tiba
Cahaya hangatnya merata di seluruh bumi
Merasuk hingga ke sukmaku
Itulah saat dunia menjadi indah.

 A flower at the edge
Look so beautiful with the sun shines on it
Thy color, shape and beauty are infinite
No one knows what future might bring to it.

Dirimu indah
Indah bagai rembulan saat langit malam
Menghanyutkan.. Membutakan..
dan hanya dirimu yang terlihat.

Don't you love cake?

Oh how i love musics..
How musics really dominant in my life.
Music has always been with me since i were a kid.
And how i love old songs.
I used to hate it though when i was a kid.
But now, it all feels.. memorable, yet drowning.

I love this version of Cake.

Strangers in the night exchanging glances
Wond'ring in the night what were the chances
We'd be sharing love before the night was through

Something in your eyes was so inviting
Something in you smile was so exciting
Something in my heart told me I must have you

Strangers in the night
Two lonely people, we were strangers in the night
Up to the moment when we said our first hello little did we know
Love was just a glance away, a warm embracing dance away

Ever since that night we've been together
Lovers at first sight, in love forever
It turned out so right for strangers in the night
